The moon is red

I am so excited about this painting! I love it right now and I can't wait to start working on it more. I am thinking of doing a series of moon paintings, experimenting with color. The moon is really fun to paint, by the way.

I'm baaaaaaack!

I got a new laptop today from Brian! So far, so good! So, I'm the proud mommy of TWO little girls now. I am breastfeeding Audrey, and thought maybe I could just eat whatever and the fact that I'm breastfeeding would help me to lose weight. Well, that worked for the first few weeks, but I've been stuck at the same weight since then. YUCK! So, now that I've got easy internet access within my reach, I can start tracking my calories on the Daily Plate again. I really don't see me getting much exercise, at least not enough to really do much of anything. I just don't have 20 minutes every day to do that. When I do get time to myself, I either take a nap, or do housework. It doesn't happen very often! I don't mind, though, because I am really trying to cherish this short time when my girls are little and still love to be snuggled and hugged and kissed by their mommy. They grow up too fast! I'm trying to savor all the baby snuggles I can get fro...

Babies!

Brian and I are having another kiddo! The first trimester was slightly miserable, not as bad as it was with Maggie, but now I feel great! I have my energy back and don't feel sick all the time anymore. With Maggie, I gained a total of around 45-50 lbs and had gestational diabetes. I am 16 weeks and have only gained 3.5 lbs, so hopefully I won't get as huge this time. I get tested for gestational diabetes at my next appointment and I'm really hoping I don't have it this time. There's a 90% chance that I will, but I'm still hoping I won't! I've been checking my blood sugar from time to time and it has been normal, no matter what I've been eating, but my test strips are also expired, so who knows! My brother and his wife are adopting a baby who will be born within days of my baby! That's so exciting! I'm hoping we both have boys since there are already so many girls in the family! But girls are pretty awesome, so that would be okay, t...

I'm stuck!!!

I've been trying to shed some extra pounds for what seems like a long time, and I'm just stuck hovering around the same weight. "Do you exercise?" you ask. No, I don't. Therein lies the problem. I'm to the point where I don't eat many calories, and I think it is slowing my metabolism down. It appears that I have no choice but to start exercising if I really want to get rid of these stubborn 10-20 lbs. But, I really don't want to!!! Time is not an issue, now that I'm at home. All I have to do is wake up a little bit sooner in the mornings (those who know me hear the sarcasm in this statement). Honestly, I have very little motivation and am apprehensive about starting an exercise routine. I'm afraid that I will start exercising regularly for about two weeks, and then stop like I usually do. Changing one's lifestyle is not easy. Kudos to everyone who has successfully beaten bad habits!

TA DA!

After an hour or so of painting, here it is!!! This painting was really starting to bother me. Every time I came downstairs, I had to look at it. I had to wait a week or two for it to dry, and then I just wasn't sure what to do with it. I figured out what I wanted to do about a week ago, and then tonight I finally worked on it some more. I like it right now. We'll give it a while before I decide what it needs next.

I want to...

PAINT!! ! Can I, can I??? Pretty please???
