Brian's last night...

for a while. He has been working so hard the last few months, sometimes 70 or more hours a week between two jobs, plus teaching trombone lessons. I'm proud of him, but I also hope he doesn't have to do this forever.
On another note, I am super excited about Christmas this year!!! I was sort of miserable last year before Christmas, being pregnant and all...until Maggie was born!!! Then I was so happy! And very exhausted. It's kind of neat that Maggie was born right before Christmas...all those warm and fuzzy Christmas feelings mix with all the warm and fuzzy Mommy feelings, and it is just too wonderful.
I didn't get any more shopping done today, but Maggie's birthday and Christmas gifts came! I hope she likes them. I wanted to go shopping after work, but I felt too tired. It's strange how worn out I feel when my job really isn't hard. I sit in a chair most of the time. Maybe some exercise would help, but exercising makes me hungry, which sort of defeats the purpose. Lately, I've been feeling the urge to start running again. It's been probably 3 years since I've run on a regular basis, but I want to shed some more weight and get my beach bod ready for Florida!!! I won't be running this winter, that's for sure. Cold and I do not get along, but maybe this Spring, I can find some time to start running again.

Mere Christianity, Book I, Chapter 4: What Lies Behind the Law In very broad terms, there are two explanations for how our universe came to be.  The first is the idea that the universe is here by chance.  I am not an expert on the subject, but the very basic theory, in layman's terms, is that the big bang happened and since then the universe has been expanding, gases have formed stars, matter has formed planets and moons, and on our own planet, matter has formed over the years into living things with minds, all by chance.  (How is that for a run-on sentence?)  The second idea says that "what is behind the universe is more like a mind than it is like anything else we know.  That is to say, it is conscious, and has purposes, and prefers one thing to another."  This thing like a mind made the universe and made things like itself, things with minds.  I know there are other ideas but most of them fall into one of these two categories. Things that keep me awake

Well, I can't sleep tonight, for several reasons. I am too excited about Christmas and Maggie's first birthday coming up. I bought her gifts online tonight, and can't wait for them to get here. I am worrying about a lot of things. I feel like some big changes are about to happen and they could either be really good, or really bad. I had too much caffeine today. Mostly it's the things I'm worrying about, though. I shouldn't worry, I know. But I do anyway. I just can't seem to turn my brain off. Maybe it's more anticipation than worry. I'm anticipating a lot of things right now. Yes. That's it. Anticipation is making me wait. Isn't that part of a song? Well, I'm going to move on to something else to try to make myself tired.
